Namibia's lush northeastern panhandle, bordered by four countries and threaded by the Zambezi, Chobe and Kwando Rivers.

The Caprivi Strip — officially the Zambezi Region — is a narrow panhandle of Namibia wedged between Angola, Zambia, Botswana and Zimbabwe, defined by the Zambezi, Chobe, Kwando and Linyanti Rivers rather than the desert landscapes found elsewhere in the country. Bwabwata National Park spans much of its length, protecting elephant, buffalo, hippo and over 400 bird species across floodplain, woodland and riverine forest. Mudumu and Nkasa Rupara National Parks add further wetland wilderness to the south, while river cruises and fishing trips bring visitors close to the region's abundant wildlife.
